March Week 22-28 Update

Due to a busy schedule, I could not post a blog last week and I apologize. What also happened during this time was I hired an editor and began another round of stressful waiting.

I have already had someone look at my book before named Cassandra Chaput, and I felt the same way. I like getting critiques because I can improve my story, but the waiting process is nerve-racking. If you haven’t read any of my other blogs, you’ll find out really quickly that I am impatient. Anyway, I use Google Docs to write in and I shared two files with Cassandra. While she edited my book, I waited as long as I could to let her have time to edit, but then started to edit as she was working on other chapters. Not sure if I was a frustrating client for doing so, but she was so nice about everything and gave great tips and suggestions. She helped me a great deal and made my story, in my opinion, better than before.

This time for a second editor I went to Kaitlyn Keller, and she is currently working on my chapters, but I chose to let her edit 1-15 before I would touch it. That was hard and both easy at the time because I was doing work on the house with my family that kept me busy. At the end of the day I wanted to look at what Kaitlyn had edited, but was also too tired and sore to do so. Now that I have had the chance to look over the first few chapters she has edited, I would say she is good at her job. Her suggestions and edits have made me look at my story at another angle, and I’m making my adjustments to what I want. Hopefully soon I will have a story ready for another round of self editing and proofreading to go through copyright and publishing.

My goal to publish this year is getting closer, and I can’t wait to share my story with everyone. If you want someone who is great, I would check out Cassandra Chaput at her site https://trueediting.ca and I would also go check Kaitlyn Keller out at her site https://illusionofscript.wixsite.com/kaitlynkeller too. You can also find them both on Twitter too.
